Jump blues is an up-tempo style of blues, jazz, and boogie woogie usually played by small groups and featuring horn instruments. It was popular in the 1940s and was a precursor of rhythm and blues and rock and roll. Jump blues was a big part of the music played by saxophonists Sil Austin and Red Prysock.
By the mid-1950s, jump blues music had been all but forgotten.
I still love the animation and excitement that goes with it!
The Fairview Pub was an iconic live music location within blocks of where I live. Blues bands played there regularly. I played there but not in a Blues band. If I had this is what I would want to play. A 1Man Band production.
I call it "The Fairview Boogaloo" or better still "The Fairview - Galoo" !
Hope you like it.
