We gathered insights from Ms. Tayaba Kakar, a lawyer, and Mr. Abdullah Khan, Public Policy Analyst and Chairman of the Balochistan Revenue Authority (BRA), on refugees, their repatriation, and mass deportation. Ms. Tayaba highlighted the legal aspects of refugees’ stay in Pakistan, international humanitarian laws, and their contributions to Pakistan’s economy. Mr. Abdullah Khan discussed refugees’ contributions in agriculture and horticulture, as well as their broader role in Pakistan’s economy, particularly in Balochistan. The report also includes feedback from refugees regarding IFRP-2023, with many requesting that the Government of Pakistan extend their stay on humanitarian grounds.
