Solving Problems on the Photoelectric effect - Part 2

This video presents a series of worked out numerical problems on the topic of Photoelectric effect. Photoelectric is one of the earliest and clinching evidences for the quantum nature of light. The accidental discovery of the phenomenon of photoelectric effect is due to Heinrich Hertz. Lenard made some important contributions to the basic understanding of the experimental aspects of the effect. It was left to Albert Einstein, who in 1905, provided a convincing theory of the effect, namely the Photoelectric theory which is a quantum theory partly derived based on the ideas of Max Planck's quantum theory of radiation for the Blackbody spectrum problem. The photoelectric effect and the photoelectric theory was discussed in a previous video on this channel. This video is a problem tutorial video to assist students in understanding both the experimental aspects as well as the theoretical concepts of the photoelectric effect. This video forms Part-2 of the two part series on solving problems on the photoelectric effect. The number of problems solved in this tutorial video is higher than some of the other topics that we have done before simply because of the depth and importance of the topic of concern. And this part-2 video can be watched independently of the part-1 video on solving problems on the photoelectric effect. These videos are made with the sole hope that it will be immensely helpful to the students of Physics to learn and understand the complex concepts and ideas of the subject matter and provide them with confidence to completely master these topics. The level of problems dealt with here is at the undergraduate level.
