Vintage Jeep cj5 starter upgrade! In this video the old cj5 is making some weird noises at start. When I investigate I find the gear on the starter bendix is stripped out. Fortunately I had an upgraded starter sitting on the bench ready to go. Using this upgraded starter which is made for a Toyota Landcruiser gives the old Jeep a lot better start up and is also much more economical than replacing or repairing the old Willys starter. This should apply to most Willys cj2a, cj3a, CJ3B, and cj5!
