One of Jim Gordon’s most iconic grooves. This could have had a very standard 4/4 feel but Jim very creatively decided to flip the beat around for the verses to give it a much different and more interesting feel. He flips the beat around to the more standard groove for the choruses and solo which helps push the song and lift it for those sections. A very simple but creative approach and so effective and perfect for the song. He also overdubbed tabla drums in the choruses and you can still hear those here in the mix. This isn’t a 100% note for note cover. The groove is and many of the fills are as well but I also took some liberties toward the end of the song. Still all in the vein of what Gordon would have played. Enjoy!
