tumi is the capital of Adjara, located on the Black Sea coast at the foot of the Caucasus Mountains, just twenty kilometers from the Turkish border. The city is called “the Las Vegas of the Black Sea” thanks to its vibrant nightlife, casinos, and modern skyscrapers that coexist with cozy quarters of old architecture. The climate here is humid subtropical: mild winters and warm, humid summers make Batumi a year-round resort. The symbol of the city is the Seaside Boulevard, stretching for about seven kilometers and lined with cafés, art installations, and places for leisure walks. Nearby lies the Batumi Botanical Garden, home to more than a thousand plants from around the world and offering breathtaking views of the sea. Batumi’s cultural life is rich: international music and art festivals are held here, and the city has theaters, museums, and galleries. Tourism has been rapidly developing in recent years: Batumi has repeatedly been recognized as one of the fastest-growing and safest tourist destinations in Europe. The city’s gastronomic hallmark is Adjarian khachapuri — a boat-shaped bread filled with cheese, egg, and butter — as well as fresh seafood, khinkali, wines, and chacha. Today, Batumi is a dynamic, welcoming, and vibrant city where modernity harmoniously blends with history, nature, and Georgia’s rich culture.
