The unusual site of "Villa Quenuani" is between Yunguyo and Cuturapi, next to Lake Titicaca near the Peru/Bolivia border on the Peruvian side. It consists of huge, complicated carved steps, seats and niches in ancient compressed ash, that probably came from the nearby Cerro Khappia mountain. Khappia is also the quarry that the andesite stones of Puma Punku and Tiwanaku came from. Ceremonies still take place to welcome in the traditional new year with the local Aymara, who see this site as sacred. It could have once been used as an Inca auditorium that looks out on to Lake Titicaca, or a place of ceremony and ritual, but its purpose and origins are still unclear. The site is rarely visited and after several years of attempting to locate the site, we managed to find it. Filmed on the Megalithomania Tour in December 2017. Includes exclusive quadcopter footage.
