How to scan for Viruses in Linux using clamav.
1. Install clamav
sudo apt-get install clamav
2. Update virus definitions
sudo freshclam
3. Scan for viruses
clamscan path_to_file
replace path_to_file with the path to the file you want to scan
or to scan a directory recursively
clamscan -r ~/Downloads
replace ~/Downloads with the path you want to scan
