ALS is a great animation system capable of handling complex locomotion. It is a great source of knowledge and open to be changed but can be very problematic if implemented wrong.
In this video, I show you how to properly implement a new Overlay State (e.g. a new Weapon, Item or Character State Overlay).
This is just a core tutorial and does not cover things in more detail like having State Machines within the Overlay State, or having the Overlay State deal with Overlay Override States and Movement Actions.
I am planning to release a more advanced tutorial that addresses these situations soon, as well as the videos I mentioned in the video (ALS Layering Anim Curves, Overriding ALS Locomotions).
