IBM Rational DOORS is a requirements management tool designed to help users capture, track, and manage user requirements. To enhance its capabilities, it uses DXL (DOORS eXtension Language), a dedicated scripting language that allows for the automation of repetitive tasks and the customization of the DOORS environment.
DXL is utilized to provide core features such as impact and traceability analysis, inter-module linking tools, and file format importers or exporters. While developed for technical users and based on fundamental features of C and C++, DXL applications appear to the end-user as seamless extensions of the standard graphical user interface.
