Sri Lanka Day 2 | Colombo to Mirissa via Galle | Details in description

Sri Lanka Day 2:

We woke up to the sound of chirping birds!

Pointers:
Started early and went to Galle. On the way went to Ahungalla Sea Turtle conservation and research centre. Good information about the turtles. Keep in mind that this will take time and you wont have much time to explore Galle if not. Also visited Mangrove river cruise from far. Lunch on the way but took a lot of time. Galle - first went to Galle watch tower where we can see the famous and scenic Galle stadium. Explored the fort and then walked along the coast to Galle lighthouse. Cant enter the lighthouse so you can only see from a distance so it will take only few mins. Later got some unique fruits and procedeed to Mirissa. it was around 8 pm when we reached Mirissa.

Things to note: We stayed at a hotel close to the airport since we were planning to move to Mirissa early next day. The distance from Colombo to Mirissa is approximately 160 Kms and to cover Galle which is on the way is tricky.
We had been to Turtle conservation center which was on the way to Mirissa but was okaish and 50-50 thing for us.
We also went to try the river cruise but it was quite late already and decided to skip.
We reached Galle by 5 pm and kind of rushed to cover all the places.
The places can be covered comfortably but once done you will reach Mirissa by 8 pm only so be mindful about that.

However, the best time to see Galle is in the evening itself so you will have to choose to visit either turtle conservation center or River cruise in Bentota for a comfortable trip.
