KLJJ Vibe

Back in May, I made a stop at APW Bangsar to check out one of KL’s most talked-about lifestyle mash-ups — the Coach Café at Coach Play APW. APW has always had that easy, creative charm, and Coach decided to bring in a little New York energy to the neighbourhood.

Stepping inside, the space feels instantly playful — part retro diner, part fashion-inspired café, part immersive brand experience. There’s a bright splash of Americana, plenty of colourful corners, and a touch of Coach’s signature craftsmanship everywhere you look. It’s “New York meets Bangsar”, with a friendly dose of whimsy.

I sampled a few things while I was there — the hot chocolate, an iced lemonade, and one of their Danish pastries. Everything was nicely done; flavours were clean, balanced, and certainly better than the typical café quick bites. Nothing too adventurous, but definitely enjoyable and very much in line with the polished, lifestyle-forward vibe of the space.

The menu overall keeps things simple but curated: Reuben sandwiches, ricotta toast, soft-serve with quirky flavours, and a coffee programme that gets good reviews. Most people come as much for the ambience as the food — and honestly, the setting is half the experience. Families, students, and Bangsar weekend wanderers all seem to weave through without pause.
