Building Leaders After the Bell: Inside the Driven Foundation After School Programs

Every day after the final school bell rings, something powerful is happening across Central Ohio.

The Driven Foundation operates two after-school leadership programs at Johnson Park Middle School and Columbus City Prep School for Boys, serving students Monday through Thursday for two to three hours each day. These programs go far beyond homework help. Students receive hot meals and snacks, academic tutoring, leadership development, financial literacy, entrepreneurship exposure, emotional wellness support, and career exploration through field trips and guest speakers.

Middle school is a defining season in a young person’s life. It’s where confidence is either built or broken, where identity is shaped, and where belief systems begin to form. Through consistent mentorship, structure, and encouragement, our coaches and volunteers are helping students discover their potential and develop the character needed to succeed in school and in life.

This year, we’re grateful to have former Ohio State Buckeye Tyler Everett serving as a Youth Leadership Coach, alongside an incredible team including Kat Harris, Kenny Church, and dedicated volunteers who show up week after week to invest in the next generation.
