Drawing 3-d forms onto a 2-d surface can be challenging. Concave and convex forms are two ways to suggest dimensions when working in perspective but these two terms are often confused or overlooked.
In this video we will be taking a look at the differences between concave and convex form as it relates to drawing 3-dimensional round forms. I will be breaking the examples into two stages, the drawing stage and the value (shading) stage. These two stages , when done correctly, greatly improves the illusion of 3-dimensions rendered onto a 2-dimensional surface.
