The Science of Reading: phonics tips, teaching consonant & vowel phonemes & graphemes

Hi y'all! In this video, I talk about the 24 consonant phonemes and discuss the difference amongst the sounds such as being voiced, unvoiced, continuous, stopped, or nasal sounds. I also share a visual chart called a vowel valley created by Dr. Louisa Moats and Dr. Carol Tolman that details the 19 vowel sounds. I list some examples of graphemes and phonemes in words and share a free phoneme-grapheme map resource. At the end, I also recommend some educators to follow on Instagram who post valuable phonics tips.
