This was an incredibly therapeutic piece for me. You probably can’t tell from my jolly narration, but my beautiful shed buddy/furbaby Ari had passed away just days before and the only way I could console myself was being in my happy place. Also a place where Ari loved to hang out with me.
So the fact that this piece required intense diy-ing using multiple power tools and design techniques, was just what the doctor ordered.
So I dedicate this piece to Ari 🐶❤️

Anyhoo she starts off as a really solid timber vintage meatsafe (used to store meat before refrigeration), needing some minor repairs, alterations and a timber top.
I created the perfect canvas to receive one of @MINTbyMichelle ‘s decoupage papers called “Sprite” and then I couldn’t help myself by applying a raised stencil, texture, a moulded trim and new legs.
Watch how I extend the image and blend in Mint mineral paint colours to achieve the most unique meat safe you’ll ever see.
