Hey guys, here's an ant hunt vlog I filmed back in March focusing on finding Myrmecia species. I really enjoyed vlogging my successful finds and hope to entertain you all with this video.
My helpful tips from my ant hunting experiences:
Nuptial flights are around Feb-May
Bush walks or forests are most likely their environment
A day after rain and is sunny are great to find foraging queens
I tend to find smaller Myrmecia species around 10am-1pm
Larger Myrmecia is around 4pm - 6pm
Take note that the times are an estimate due to my personal experience. if you have questions, I'm happy to answer them in the comments below.
P.S I will not share the locations I hunt in.
