🤳 The Yanomami and Ye'kwana peoples have conceived an innovative tool to protect the country's largest indigenous territory and ensure the well-being of their communities.
The Yanomami Alert System works as a simple mobile app, where indigenous people can send reports, such as malaria cases or invasions, in alert format.
Once the system receives the report, system operators qualify the information to validate the accounts, which then become public for authorities, partner institutions and the press.
Since September 2023, there have been more than 340 alert records, the majority concerning territorial invasions.
