Seth, the third son of Adam, and often the overlooked one. But that's the way he likes it, being the less famous kid compared to his older brothers. In the thousands of years he's been in Heaven, he's been badgered enough times about Extermination Day. Unlike Adam, who wants to save ALL of his kids, Seth is the opposite. Back when he was alive, he knew from birth that he was Abel’s replacement. He hated that he was born into an already fractured family because of Cain’s actions and he could see the trauma the murder left on his parents, especially Eve.

Knowing his eldest brother was led to unrighteousness, he swore upon Abel’s grave that he will live up to his example and should any of his descendants fall as Cain did, then they deserve their punishment in the Afterlife. When he made it to Heaven, he finally got to meet the brother he was meant to replace. Abel and Seth had a fantastic relationship and in a typical little brother fashion, Seth really emulated Abel’s ideals. Which is why he is pro Extermination Day. If anyone bothered him about it, he would shrug and move on.

Adam and Seth had a cordial relationship but Seth found it distasteful that his father wanted sinners in Heaven. But for the sake of civility, he pushed the topic aside for the longest time. Cain arriving in Heaven in a last ditch effort to end the exterminations fractured their relationship and further pushed Seth into a more extremist position about the whole thing.

The last time Seth saw Abel was right before he went down to Limbo to take care of business. The only thing he advised was to not rough up Dad too hard but do what was required. Parts of the battle were streamed to Heaven and Seth was fully convinced his father would lose and things would go as normal. That didn't happen. Everyone gawked at the Kadmon transformation and then…he lost his brother again.

Despite how controversial Abel could be to some, so many in Heaven mourned. Seth was devastated. He hated Cain more than ever and he dare not face Adam so soon because he knew he would start throwing punches for letting this happen.

With Vaggie missing as well, the Exorcists were a disjointed mess with no leadership. Heaven was on lockdown until everyone could figure out how to proceed following such a disaster. No angel was allowed to go to Limbo nor Hell, the Elders decided that enough was enough for now. Seth temporarily became a recluse and viewed the move as an affront to Abel’s legacy.

The stress of it all induced a mental break, and Seth saw an apparition of his brother. He could not let Abel die again in vain. Seth decided it was time to stop being less of a bystander. He stepped up to the mantle of Exorcist Leader. He was not about to let his father get what he wanted just like that.

The second the gates of Hell reopen, Seth will raze it to the ground. And no sinner will be spared. No exceptions.

Important: This AU has been running since March 2024. My design for Abel PREDATES Season 2 of Hazbin Hotel by a long shot and yes, I did predict some things like him being Exorcist leader. I wasn't going to change the main design here to make it fit in canon since things are swapped in this AU, but I did give the canon design a wink. If you don't know what is going on, there are other animatics in this series. Yes it feels outdated now but it's my fanfiction lol. That being said, if this is one of the last animatics for this AU before I move onto my own heaven project, then it's been a helluva ride and I appreciate all of you that have joined me since Hell Is Forever. This series was lighthearted fun and a neat exercise in storytelling.

The whole thing about the Sethite line disavowing Cain is actually a biblical thing and is why I made Seth pro Exorcist. Most biblical figures in Heaven view Redemption vs Extermination as an immediate familial affair and Seth used to be in that faction of ‘stay out of it as much as possible, let em figure it out’.

Gravity has constant references to a flood and rain. Noah is a direct descendant of Seth. Made all the difference in choosing Seth over Emily for this. I love my bible references.
