Here’s what Kamau has to say about his song:
“This piece was Inspired by Elechi Amadi's book, The Concubine (1966). I composed it in 1981 and recorded as part of my Strong Men album in 1982. It is a true honor to revisit this music over forty years later with the sublimely gifted arranger, Kris Johnson. My sincere appreciation to all of the talented musicians who participated in this recording.”
