Guo Pei - 1002 nights Haute Couture 2009 All existing footage

On November 6, 2009, Guo Pei launches her third Haute Couture show named “1002 Nights”. This collection theme was women’s emotion. Her inspirations comes from the obvious reference of the very old Arabian tale: 1001 Nights. Through Haute Couture language, she told stories about lies & truth, betrayal & trust and the reversed process of death & rebirth. After you reach the end of the road, a new one comes to you, when you try flying down the cliff and find yourself on top of a cloud. Extreme feelings that need to be dealt with courage and persistence, just like the spirit of Haute Couture. Relentlessly, climbing again to the top with the utopic goal of reaching the ultimate beauty. This is where ‘1002 Nights’ begins.

Guo Pei tried to push to the limit of imagination and artisanship with her works on each of her piece of jewelry and garment. Exotic decorative pattern is made by a great number of Swarovski elements, various precious laces, luxurious fur, handmade embroideries and metal nets. They are fascinating, mysterious and inspiring, what Haute Couture means to every one of us.

Guo Pei invited the world’s famous supermodel Carmen dell'Orefice to present her works on the show. Come back on the Haute Couture stage, Carmen symbolizes the immortal beauty legend.
