Weekend snow moves in to southern New England: Here's what to expect

Widespread snow is set to move into Southern New England between 7-10 PM. Snowfall rates become moderate to heavy fairly quickly, approaching 1 inch per hour prior to 1 AM. This is when the region picks up most of its snowfall. Precipitation becomes lighter and scattered early on Saturday morning before snow comes to an end by 9 AM at the latest. Snowfall totals by the time all is said and done are expected to be 2-4 inches for most communities, with higher amounts possible in Washington/Kent Counties.
