We collected endless memories and love from Ibadan! On our last day in this historic city, we visited the Ibadan Old Market, where we bought traditional food, shared it, and enjoyed the best local experience.
Ibadan, one of the largest cities in West Africa, is located in southwestern Nigeria. Founded in the early 19th century as a military settlement, its people are historically known as warriors. Over time, Ibadan grew into a powerful political and cultural center of the Yoruba people.
During British colonial rule, Ibadan became the administrative capital of Western Nigeria, and today a few colonial-era monuments still reflect its past. The city is also home to the palace of the Olubadan, the traditional king, symbolizing its rich history and culture.
Ibadan is famous for its University of Ibadan, vibrant markets, brown-roofed landscapes, and warm hospitality—where tradition meets modern life.
