This development consisted of two 34-floor glass curtain-walled towers dubbed Towers A and B, which were connected on five basement floors and the first two floors above ground. Tower B had 103 serviced apartments managed by Marriott International under the name “Yeouido Park Centre, Seoul – Marriott Executive Apartments” (Marriott Executive Apartments is Marriott’s full-service extended stay portfolio, being a concept similar to the essentially defunct Marriott Suites but with a kitchen (instead of a wet bar) in every unit; unlike the select-service Residence Inn or TownePlace Suites, it lacks any footprint within the U.S. and Canada, and hence little known within those regions. ) on floors 3 through 14, while the floors above contained freehold live-work apartments. Tower A entirely consisted of live-work apartments on floors 3 and above. Of the two floors of the above-grade podium, the first floor contained lobbies for live-work units in both towers and the serviced apartments in Tower B, as well as some third-party restaurants. The second floor contained several function rooms (within Tower A) and a Marriott-managed restaurant and bar (within Tower B). More third-party restaurants and retail shops occupied most of the first basement, while a comprehensive health club affiliated with the serviced apartments was located on the rest of the first basement and the entire second basement. The other three underground floors were devoted to parking, with a section of the third basement set aside for serviced apartment and retail uses while the rest was reserved for occupants of the live-work units.
Each tower contained four passenger elevators and one service elevator. In addition, there were two shuttle elevators within the podium that served basement three through the second floor, which are the ones featured in this video. Each car had a glass rear wall that allowed views on the two above-ground floors as well as the first and third basements. The side walls were finished with stainless steel, dark wood and light brown leather, while the floors were wood-covered. The COP had round stainless steel buttons rarely seen nowadays, while the car indicators were of the standard vertical type. Each landing featured square A10 hall lanterns, which had apparently been discontinued. No hall chimes were issued. The ride quality was overall very good, though noises from the in-shaft machineries as well as worn-out guide rails were clearly audible.
