130 William Street is the first skyscraper by the British-Ghanian architect Sir David Adjaye. In helping to realise a “sense of craft and ornament on a contemporary scale”, as Adjaye puts it, Salvatori’s work on 130 William Street represents our largest project to date. Just as Adjaye’s design sets out a new way of thinking about high level buildings, our participation at the centre of this project, pushing our logistical and engineering capabilities, demonstrates a new role for suppliers in cutting edge contemporary design. As Salvatori’s CEO Gabriele Salvatori discussed in New York with Scott Avram, the Senior Vice President for the company developing 130 William Street, and Marc McQuade, senior director at Adjaye Associates, it was not simply a case of working to a specification but required collaborating directly with the architects, bringing our expertise to challenge existing thinking about interiors.
