WELCOME to Session 42 of our series, “Israel on Location.” This session takes us on an adventurous walk through Hezekiah’s Tunnel. Located within the City of David (in Jerusalem), this tunnel was carved by chisels at the end of the 8th century BC. It is mentioned in 2 Kings 20, 2 Chronicles 32, and Isaiah 8:6. It was a remarkable engineering project for the purpose of diverting the water from the Gihon Spring to within the walls at the southern end of the city. The length is 1,700 feet! Two teams of rock-cutters started at opposite ends until they met each other in the middle, breaking through the opening. Join us as we walk through with water shoes and flashlights through this ancient tunnel! It’s lots of fun!
