SANDBAGGING THEIR WAY TO VICTORY? The Ford GT's Return to Le Mans (2016-2019)

Ford returned to Le Mans in 2016 with the GT, a more modern version of their legendary GT40 and it was all about the 50th anniversary of their original win there in 1966. However- Ford and Ferrari were both having fingers pointed at them by the other teams because they were suddenly very fast, with none of the other cars able to get near them.

Was it all because the ACO wanted another Le Mans 1966? So, they were BOP'd, but still ended up winning. It was still Ford vs Ferrari but it wasn't going to be easy for them because Bourdais had some things happen during his night shift that were quite scary.

So what was this car and how did Ford succeed? Let's have a look.
