In the aftermath of the recent Delhi blasts and as part of heightened security measures, Handwara Police on Friday carried out a comprehensive search operation of lockers at GMC Handwara.
The operation was conducted under the overall supervision of SSP Handwara, and led by the Executive Magistrate Handwara, with active assistance from the SHO Handwara and the Medical Superintendent, GMC Handwara.
During the inspection, several lockers were found locked, and due to the unavailability of keys, the locks of some lockers had to be carefully cut open using a hammer to facilitate the security check.
The Handwara Police emphasized that the exercise was part of routine security reinforcement to ensure safety within vital institutions and to maintain a secure environment for staff, students, and the general public.
The administration assured that such measures will continue wherever necessary to uphold public safety and counter any potential threat.
