Spartan Race - Šamorín (SK) 2024 - Sprint

Just one week after racing in St. Polten, we are back at the location that holds a very special place in our hearts since our Spartan journey started here 2 years ago – X-Bionic Olympic Training Center in Šamorín ❤️

There are some Spartan Race veterans who keep criticizing the location since there are no mountains with steep climbs, and the overall difficulty level is lower to cater to new racers and introduce the Spartan world to new people, just as it did for us a few years back.

Now a seasoned Spartan myself, I still love the location since it's pure and unadulterated fun that fits perfectly into the mid-season summer slot. Personally, I would suggest that those ‘experts’ who keep complaining should probably remind themselves how Spartan Race started and what its self-proclaimed mission is 😶

🌦️ Weather Conditions: Sunny with temperatures reaching 31°C, but with clouds and some wind when we raced👟 Running Distance: 6.55km🗻 Elevation Gain: 64m🪜 Course Obstacles: 23📷 Course Highlight: Just like last year, the chance to run through the stunning Olympic Training Center is simply amazing! Also, I had a chance to try the ‘Monkey A-Net’ again after failing it during its premiere last year in Hungary.

By starting early in the morning in the age group, we avoided both the high temperatures that hit people in later waves and the huge groups of racers piling up at certain obstacles. I had by far the best experience on a course in a long time!

With my training now fully resumed after the Lyme disease treatment, I felt good and strong on the course and with a bit of luck, I believe I had it in me to run a perfect race with no penalties today. I am already looking forward to the Super event on Sunday 🔵

And to put a little cherry on top, Zuzana placed second again in her age category, and after last week’s success in St. Polten, it was her second podium finish in two weeks – is it possible that there is a new force to be reckoned with? I am immensely proud of her and can’t wait to see what else she will accomplish 🥹
