On this week's edition of "Marketplace jackpot", we have a Hunter Original ceiling fan model 22309 in frost white finish with polished brass face plate and 22324 frost white cane blade with polished brass irons, made with Robbins & Myers in Hunter's Foley, AL facility, dated March 1981. 2-speed 2.5 amp non-reversible shaded pole motor. As the opening statement implies, this fan came from Marketplace. Being a Foley fan, of course the stator needed adjusting. Though this was actually the easiest stator adjustment I think I've done to date. Normally they take hours, this one was fixed with a couple well placed whacks to two of the lead pieces and it shifted the stator pretty much exactly where it needed to be. It originally had a genuine R&M/Hunter 22508 floral low profile light kit, but that needs new fiber washers and that's why it's not currently on the fan. Originals don't tend to surface local to me too terribly often but one thing I've learned in almost 20 years of collecting is that they ARE out there. It just seems to be a matter of location; this one surfaced in an area near both a Busy Beaver hardware store (who I'm 99% sure sold Originals in the 1980s) and a former lighting showroom who, while I haven't seen any evidence they carried Hunter, would not be surprised if they did. It appeared to have been installed in a kitchen, but cleaned up nicely and shows evidence of not being run much. Some parts did have to be dusted with new paint, but overall I'm extremely happy with how this fan cleaned up.
