Giant Pumpkin Wins California Pumpkin Weigh-Off

Pumpkin season is in full swing, and so is the search for the heaviest pumpkins in the United States! This year, at California’s famous Safeway World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off in Half Moon Bay, a Minnesota teacher named Travis Gienger took top spot with his colossal pumpkin, "Rudy," tipping the scales at an incredible 2,471 Ibs — about the same weight as two grizzly bears! Travis, now a four-time champion, has dedicated months to nurturing his pumpkin, and it’s once again paid off.
