Largs Ferry Disruption- Part 1

With regular Cumbrae ferry MV Loch Shira out of action thanks to ramp issues it was left to another collection of smaller ferries to take over the mantle and look after the Cumbrae service. The small ferry fleet's resources were stretched with MV Loch Bhrusda being brought down from Mallaig to cover the service alongside the original ferry for the service the MV Isle of Cumbrae who had been taken off the Portavadie to Tarbert to cover at Largs. The usual second boat on the Largs run MV Loch Riddon had just returned from Rothesay after having issues of her own.

The day started when MV Loch Bhrusda arrived into Largs and after she departed the MV Isle of Cumbrae arrived which after we boarded sailed over to her namesake island passing the Bhrusda on the way across. After making my way to Millport I had a few hours there when to my surprise MV Loch Bhrusda passed us bound for Campbeltown before she would return to the Hebrides to provide additional capacity on the Fishnish to Lochaline service. After heading back to the Cumbrae Slip I as greeted with Loch Riddon who was back in service and ready to take us back to the mainland.
