As the Amazon rain forest is being cut down and burned at an alarming rate, a South American Indian, Zeena, Chief of the Rain People makes a stand against Woodcutters who are cutting down the last stand of Chinchona trees. Home to rare wildlife that will be lost forever, the Chinchona trees also hold the cure for Zeena's son, Coco, who is sick with malaria. Millius sends David to help, and grandchildren Anna and Harry stow away for the adventure. As the Rain People prepare for battle, the Gnomes are taken to Coco by Chatty, a rare Macaw. Anna and Harry keep Coco from falling into a coma while David takes to the rain forest for the cure.

David recruits a Macaw, Capuchin, Jaguar, Giant Anteater, and two Anacondas to drive the Woodcutters away. He cures Coco in the nick of time and when Anna and Harry return home, the King of the Gnomes dubs them Apprentice Royal Environmental Knights.
