Traditional Irish fiddle player Lucy Farr performing at The Bull Pub, Stanford Dingley. Accompanied by Mark T. on bodhran.
Lucy was born in 1911. When this was recorded she was 85 years old and, as you can hear, her playing was still in fine form. She appeared on numerous recordings from the 1960's through to the 1990's and was the subject of a short film. She even, once, even appeared at the London Palladium.
She was a regular player at the famous London Irish music pub The Favourite and also did many gigs with Bob Davenport and the Rakes.
When she played one of her own compositions she often would refer to it as 'a silly little tune'.
