Marriage and Queenship: In 1533, Henry married Anne secretly, and she was crowned queen. Later that year, she gave birth to Elizabeth (the future Elizabeth I), though Henry desperately wanted a son.

Downfall: Anne suffered several miscarriages, and Henry grew frustrated. His interest shifted to Jane Seymour. In 1536, Anne was accused—likely falsely—of adultery, treason, and even incest.
