Welcome to our climate camp in Strandzha National Park! We are sure that the emotions, what was seen and experienced will remain alive for a long time! Young Ambassadors of seven partner countries were participating in our wilderness camp in Bulgaria, focusing on climate changes. “I wanted to see more of nature than just Lithuania's nature and I wanted to see the problems that other countries are facing with” said one of the Young Ambassadors, Martynas Balsys. Mónika Molnár from Hungary wanted to see rhododendrons. The flowers are starting to dry up in some places, because of the lack of rainfalls.
Strandzha National Park, is the largest protected area in Bulgaria, in the Strandzha Mountain in the extreme south-eastern corner of the country on the border with Turkey. Living places of 121 types of habitants. The participants were visiting the locals from Strandzha, they spent time in the Brashlyan architectural reserve. And met people from the forestry department, and learned about how people can coexist with nature. They have visited Atanasovsko Lake, a salt coastal lake north of Burgas, Bulgaria, located in direct proximity to the Black Sea. The lake is particularly known for the diversity of its flora and fauna and is surrounded by swamps and canals that drain the whole local basin into the sea. The Young Ambassadors experienced how local activists are working to replace species with other species, and help nature to survive in the changing world.
