Marella Discovery arrived at Patmos in the Greek Dodecanese Islands
For day 6 of my 7 day cruise on the Undiscovered Aegean itinerary around Türkiye and Greece, I was on tour to the Pilgrimage and UNESCO World Heritage sites of The Monastery of St John the Theologian and the Cave of the Apocalypse.
St John wrote Revelation, the last book of the New Testament of the Bible, and was reputed to have had the visions in the Cave of the Apocalypse.
After our morning shore excursion with the ship I explored the town of Skala where the tender boats dropped off and picked up.
There was time to explore this pretty town, admire some expensive looking yachts and enjoy a couple of local beers at the beach bar. Patmos was one of the highlights of my cruise
Back on the ship again I had time for afternoon tea, a lounge by the pool and enjoyed watching the sailaway from this beautiful island - which would be a perfect destination if you are planning Greek Island hopping!
I had dinner in the Italian style Gallery 47 before an evening of more fun with a game show in Squid & Anchor, music in the Live Room and The Divas show in Broadway Show Lounge with an after party in The Live Room.
We might have received our Going Home instructions, but there's still another day to come on this cruise, so make sure you SUBSCRIBE as the adventure moves to Heraklion, Crete.
