Halo 3 unfiltered

Halo 3 on the Xbox 360 was a battle ground. During its prime 2007-2011(ish) it was an absolute paradise for the average gamer to get their trash talk skills strengthened. Or if not.. then get totally crushed. This was prime time for gaming on the Xbox. Despite halo 2 having a huge online presence, Halo 3 fed those hungry for more and also invited a new generations in. Some might argue that Halo 3 revolutionised what online gaming is now to this day.. and Still! It’s a difficult one to compete with. Many may not fully be able to comprehend that online gaming at that point, truly WAS Halo.

Xbox Live began taking off due to the ordinary person wanting more from Halo. With Halo 3 living up to the hype of Halo 2 online, it already basically had its fan base. Xbox 360’s even came with a Mic that plugged into your controller.. which basically meant the most unhinged people would even find their way on Xbox Live. Never mind the fact that Halo 3 came with a free online trial code.

This resulted with..
Trash talk.

Access online, where gaming with people you never knew was suddenly a possibility. With this being a first time for many.. being totally anonymous only encouraged that inner gamer rage. Xbox live became home of the underground keyboard warriors.. on controller. Imagine if classic 4chan was a single person, and at the same time.. was everyone.

Fast forward:
It’s 2017.
You’re still playing halo 3 on your backwards compatibility via Xbox “One” S.
Which confusingly is the next generation from the 360 (we all thought it would be called Xbox 720).

This is where I was able to capture funny bits and pieces and put together montages with ease. Thanks to the capture button made accessible via a touch of the controller. No more “capture cards” (which always sounded like an absolute pain to use).

It’s 2017, and I recorded its last 5 years worth before the 360 version was shut down. Yup, no more Halo 3-original-360-backwards-compatibility, online…
It’s still available to play on the master chief collection, better quality worse controls.

However! On its last legs, I logged on. In 2017(ish) started where I left off, way back in 2011.
This time I used my capture option on and off and captured this glorious content.

As an ode to Halo 3 and all it was for gaming.. here is some content I saved.
It’s also available in a list of my collection of montages. Here there’s some extra things too though.
These clips never appeared earlier due to either being way too in your face.. or just simply I skipped passed them and forgot.
Probably the latter.
