First Hover Flight of New Mosquito Helicopter XET

No music or voice over, just the beautiful sounds of the turbine whine and slapping blades of my first hover test flight. I did spend a couple of minutes on an earlier engine run getting the helicopters right skid off the ground allowing me to see foot pedal and cyclic stick positions for initial hover. Very boring to watch! I was so excited that I was about to hover the XET for the first time that I had to go jogging a bit to burn off some of the excited nerves. LOL!
The XET did great! Very smooth and stable once I got it off the ground and in a 3’ to 4’ hover. A little snappier then what I remember from an R22 and the cyclic inputs are closer to a Bell Jet Ranger with feedback. I have the curved S-cyclic stick which I think is a must for comfortable arm positioning in a hover.
This has been a life long dream for me since I was in a sophomore high school back in 1982 when I saw an add for a Rotorway in a Popular Science magazine. I’m very much looking forward to flying the XET a lot more!
