Jiuzhaigou Valley, or Jiuzhaigou National Park is located in northern Sichuan province.

It is known as “the Most Beautiful Waterscape in China”, Word Natural Heritage Site, “Fairytale Land”, 5A National Park. All people who have been to Jiuzhaigou know all these reputation match the reality.

It is even regarded as the “Paradise for Photographers”.

Having been hidden as a mysterious and never been bothered by outsider until been found in the middle of 20th century, Jiuzhaigou keeps the wildness of nature very well.

Explore the most beautiful waterscape in China – water is the soul of Jiuzhaigou, and waters in the high-altitude mountain range are much clearer and diverse in forms.

Over 108 lakes, 3 groups of waterfalls is the biggest highlight of Jiuzhaigou.Colors of nature - Jiuzhaigou is the best painting presenting the best color used by the Mother Nature. Visiting Jiuzhaigou is a feast of vision.

Wild forests, flowers, lakes changes colors in different season – grey in spring, green in summer, golden in autumn, white in winter.Rare species - Jiuzhaigou Valley is home to over 220 bird species, 74 species of state-protected plants, 18 species of endangered animals, including the Giant Pandas, snub-nosed monkeys, etc.

Called Dzitsa Degu in Tibetan, Jiuzhai Valley or Jiuzhaigou National Park is located in the Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture of Sichuan Province, South Western China.

It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992 and it belongs to the category 5 in the IUCN system of protected area categorization. Jiuzhai Valley literally means “Nine Village Valley” and is named after the nine Tibetan villages scattered throughout the park.

There is evidence of people living in the national park up to 3,000 years and the local people still hold onto many of their traditional ways of life. The human population of the park is just over 1,000 which comprises of over 110 families.

The superb landscapes of Jiuzhai Valley are particularly interesting for their narrow conic karst land forms and spectacular waterfalls and lakes.

There are over 220 bird species found in Jiuzhai Valley as well as a number of endangered plant and animal species, including the giant panda, Sichuan golden monkey and the Sichuan takin.

These include a number of karst formations; indeed the area is a "natural museum" for alpine karst hydrology and research.

Covering 72,000 ha in the northern part of Sichuan Province, Jiuzhaigou preserves a series of important forest ecosystems including old-growth forests which provide important habitat for numerous threatened species of plants and animals, including the giant panda and takin.

Attaining heights of 4,752 m in the southern Minshan Mountains, Jiuzhaigou also contains an important number of well-preserved quaternary glacial remnants with great scenic value.

Exploring Jiuzhaigou in One Day

Commence your journey by boarding a tourist bus from the entrance, destined for Nuorilang.

This route allows you to witness the iconic sights of Jiuzhaigou. Upon arrival at Nuorilang, transfer to Zechawa Valley, where you can marvel at the breathtaking Long Lake, Five-Color Pond, and Seasonal Lakes.

Subsequently, proceed to the picturesque Rize Valley to discover the wonders of Panda Lake, Five Flower Lake, Pearl Shoal, and Mirror Lake. As your excursion draws to a close, return to the gate from Nuorilang, savoring the captivating views of the Shuzheng Lakes en route, including Tiger Lake and Rhinoceros Lake.

While this one-day Jiuzhaigou tour may feel a tad hurried, it offers the opportunity to visit a selection of the region's emblematic lakes.

There are several beautiful colored lakes highlighted with spectacular blues and greens. Five Flower Lake features a crisscrossed design offallen trees. The lakes become even more aesthetically pleasing in the fall when the leaves turn orange, red, and yellow creating beautiful reflections in the water.

The Jiuzhaigou Waterfall is beautiful and is part of the reason for the park's name. There are other waterfalls, however, Jiuzhaigou is probably the pinnacle falls.
