Anlässlich des Tages der deutschen Einheit lud die Deutsche Botschaft in Eriwan am Dienstag zu einem Empfang ein. Die geladenen Gäste aus der armenischen Regierung, aus internationalen und deutschen Organisationen und der diplomatischen Gemeinschaft in Armenien – hatten so die Möglichkeit gemeinsam mit der Deutschen Botschaft für die Feierlichkeit zusammenzukommen.
Botschafter #ViktorRichter äußerte sich in seiner Ansprache auch zu der aktuellen Situation in Armenien und brachte die Anteilnahme und Unterstützung #Deutschlands zum Ausdruck:
„We strongly condemn Baku's military attack. What we see now with the dramatic exodus of almost the complete Armenian population from Mountainous #karabakh is a real humanitarian catastrophy. We demand to guarantee the save return of Armenians to their places of living in Karabakh. […] Germany is working hard to ensure humanitarian aid for these people in need. Among other things, Germany has significantly increased its payments to the ICRC in Karabakh. The territorial integrity and sovereignty of Armenia and Azerbaijan cannot be questioned. Germany remains committed to the negotiation process.“
Der armenische Vize-Premierminister - Mher Grigoryan - dankte Deutschland für die bestehende und kommende Zusammenarbeit und gratulierte zum Tag der Deutschen Einheit.
