US President Donald Trump is set to host Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado at the White House, in a closely watched meeting that could signal Washington’s next move on the country. Ms Machado is seeking renewed US backing to restore democracy after years of campaigning against the rule of Nicolas Maduro. Mr Trump has previously questioned her credibility and Washington also indicated a willingness to engage with interim president Delcy Rodriguez. Nick Harper reports from Washington DC.
