Thou blessed, glowing sunset! The heavens will sunder in a flash;
Thus do martyrs depart from us, graciously laughing in their love-death.
The mountains of departure are silent and grey,
The brilliant glow marks the grave of day.
The swan on purple-red floods,
And every grass-blade in silvery dew!
