Older BMW like the 3 Series
Requirements
1/4 and ¾ Tank of Gas + Level Ground + cold start - NO DTC Codes

Avoid Engine Speed of 3000+ RPM, Avoid Driving over 60 MPH
Avoid Large fluctuations in the accelerator pedal position
1. Start engine and idle for approximately 2 minutes and 10 seconds.
Tests: Secondary air injection and EVAP leak detection are now being tested
2. Begin driving. Accelerate to 20-30 MPH and maintain steady speed for 3 minutes and 15 seconds.
Tests: ECU is now checking closed-loop operation and oxygen sensor response time.
3. Accelerate to 40-60 MPH and maintain steady speed for 15 minutes.
Tests: The catalyst monitor is being running.
4 Decelerate ( at under 20 mph without braking or shifting), to come to a complete stop and idle while the engine is in gear (drive for automatic transmission and neutral for manual transmissions) for 5 minutes.
Tests: ECU is now testing the system for EVAP leaks. Coasting under 20 mph helps with the EGR monitor.
5. End of Drive Cycle
Hint: If not all monitors are set, focus only on the unset monitor(s)
