November 21, 2001 (PARK HILLS, Ky.) -- For the first time in school history, Rockcastle County will play for a state title after knocking off Covington Catholic 17-14 at Wooten Field.
The Rockets entered the Class 3A state semifinal known for a smothering defense which had eight shutouts to their credit in 2001. Tom Larkey's team was one of the best in school history and on this day made history.
