Witness: The Art of Kerry Dunn

Kerry Dunn graduated from Ringling School of Art and Design with a major in illustration, later studied with portrait painter Nelson Shanks, and now serves as principal portrait painting instructor at Studio Incamminati in Philadelphia, an atelier specializing in old master oil painting and on the faculty of the Portrait Society of America. Whether in pastel or oil, Kerry mainly focuses on painting people, figures/portraits, “using line, form, and color to communicate character, storytelling, and spirit…and the human condition”…with forays into still life and landscape. Kerry uses PanPastel for some of his drawings for its soft, delicate look, sometimes combining it with Conté or hard pastel for a crisp line.
