पंजाब के बटाला में एक पत्रकार की पुलिसिया पिटाई ने एक बार फिर बड़ा सवाल खड़ा कर दिया है कि क्या सच्चाई दिखाना अपराध है। या पत्रकारिता करना ही अब गुनाह बन गया है? आखिर क्यों सरकार पूरे देश के लिए एक यूनेनिमस पत्रकार सुरक्षा कानून नहीं ला रही है।
पंजाब के बटाला में दो पुलिस उप-निरीक्षकों ने एक फ्रीलांस पत्रकार की निर्ममता से पिटाई की। घटना CCTV कैमरे में कैद हो गयी। नहीं तो दोनों इल्जाम से मुकर भी जाते। पीड़ित पत्रकार बलविंदर कुमार भल्ला ने बताया कि घटना वाले दिन वो एक होटल के बाहर मौजूद थे वहां कुछ संदिग्ध गतिविधि देख कर उन्होंने इन दोनों पुलिस वालों से सवाल किया, लेकिन उन्हें नहीं पता था कि उनका सवाल करना इन दोनों पुलिस अधिकारियों को इतना नागवार गुजरेगा। सवाल पूछते हुए बलविंदर की सब-इंस्पेक्टर मनदीप सिंह और सुरजीत कुमार से कहासुनी हो गयी और उसके बाद जो हुआ वो कैमरे में कैद हो गया। आप वीडियो देख कर अंदाजा लगा सकते हैं कि इस तरह किसी खतरनाक अपराधी को भी नहीं पीटा जा सकता।

Two police sub-inspectors brutally beat up a freelance journalist in Batala, Punjab. The incident was captured on CCTV cameras. Otherwise, both would have denied the accusation. The victim journalist Balwinder Kumar Bhalla told that on the day of the incident, he was present outside a hotel and seeing some suspicious activity there, he questioned these two policemen, but he did not know that his questioning would be so unpleasant to these two police officers. While asking questions, Balwinder had an argument with sub-inspector Mandeep Singh and Surjeet Kumar and what happened after that was captured on camera. You can guess by watching the video that even a dangerous criminal cannot be beaten like this.
