I hop on a local tram 🚋 for 3 stops, but can’t resist stopping for freshly baked Börek — a buttery, cheesy Turkish pastry that’s one of the most famous foods in Istanbul.

Finally, I arrive at Nusr-Et Steakhouse Istanbul, where my waiter Brad serves me a perfectly cooked ribeye steak and convinces me to try the legendary deep fried onion blossom 🌸🍟 served with garlic mayo, sour cream, and lots of salt.

After spending over 3000 Turkish Lira 💸, I’m still craving something sweet… so I wander the streets and find a vendor selling golden, crispy Turkish donuts (lokma) — deep fried, soaked in sweet sugar syrup, and absolutely addictive. I even film the entire process from dough making to deep frying to first bite.
