The damage was extensive but not as bad as it sounded. We lost entire trees and many limbs, but the forest will recover, and we will still have a productive sugar bush! Now the work begins, cutting trails open, removing trees that are no longer safe or have lost most of their canopy, leaving some for wildlife and letting the forest take her time. Forest disturbance is a natural process and it is hard to stand by while so much damage happens, but we know in time all will be good.
