Big Boost for BJP in Sonawari as Dozens of NC, PDP Workers Join the Party at Hakabara Hajin

Bandipora: The Bharatiya Janata Party received a major boost in Sonawari on Sunday afternoon when dozens of prominent workers from the National Conference and the Peoples Democratic Party joined the party at an joining event held in Hakabara Hajin. Senior BJP leader Naseer Ahmad lone welcomed the new entrants and encouraged party cadres to intensify their outreach at the grassroots level.

While speaking to media BJP senior leader and State Executive Member, Co-incharge IT and Social Media for J&K UT, Naseer Ahmad Lone, urged workers to stay active and strengthen the organisation across Bandipora. He said the BJP’s presence in North Kashmir continues to grow because people are recognising the party’s work on the ground.

Lone criticised the National Conference, accusing it of years of neglect and failure to address basic public concerns. He said only the BJP, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has focused on genuine welfare measures. He pointed to initiatives like free ration, golden cards, and schemes aimed at women’s empowerment, adding that these programmes have brought visible improvements to people’s lives. He said many families who struggled for years are finally receiving benefits without discrimination, which has restored their trust in governance.

He also alleged that the NC’s policies contributed to decades of turmoil in Kashmir. According to him, the situation has improved significantly since the BJP came to power, and the region has seen greater peace and stability.

The former NC workers who joined the BJP said they had been associated with the party for nearly two decades but felt ignored and sidelined. They said they now trust that the BJP will address their longstanding issues. “We always supported them, but nothing was done for us. We now have full faith that the BJP will work for us, InshaAllah,” they said.

Several workers from different parties formally joined the BJP during the event. They expressed confidence in the party’s policies and leadership. Naseer Ahmad Lone welcomed them into the party fold and said their joining would strengthen the BJP at the grassroots level in Sonawari.
